He is from Lyon and at only 22 years old he has swam across the English Channel<\/strong> ! On July 4, 2017, Pierre-Julian Pourantru left Dover (England) to arrive in Wissant (France), a swim across 40km in 10h10<\/strong> !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While for the average person, distance seems to be the main obstacle to this feat, it is not for the swimming prodigy. The hardest part is what is uncontrollable: the tide, the currents, the weather conditions and the water temperature. And then there's the predictable part: the many boats passing by. And yes, we are on one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world! The difficulty for the swimmer is to adapt his or her trajectory without succumbing to the nervousness that can be felt when faced with a 100 metre long ferry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
